Shea Butter Organic from Ghana

Shea Butter offers long lasting skin moisturising properties and is especially beneficial for use on areas of very dry and damaged skin. The butter will soften and nourish tough skin on your hands, feet and elbows. 

This traditional Ghanaian product has been hand crafted by local women of the sub-Saharan Savannah-Sahel for centuries. Shea butter is a super healthy option for your skin, rich in vitamins A, and E, and packed with naturally occurring vitamins, minerals and proteins with moisture-boosting and anti-ageing properties. Vitamin A is important for improving a number of skin conditions, including, blemishes, wrinkles, eczema, and dermatitis. Vitamin E is a common anti-ageing ingredient that protects your skin. It is unusual from other cosmetic products in that it actually encourages your skin to absorb moisture from the air, ensuring that your skin becomes softer and stays moisturised for longer.

Our organic Shea Butter is made from the kernels of the wild harvested fruits of the Shea Tree by local women cooperatives in Ghana between May & August. The women will harvest, clean & press the nuts themselves (within their community) and then negotiate their own price before it arrives in Europe for filtering & cleaning. The production and sale of this wonderful traditional product has a significant impact, helping to empower women and stengthen communities. This organic Shea Butter has been naturally deodorised and filtered. 

African Shea Butter has a very strong scent that is best described as nutty, fruity or smoky, which many people find is too strong and overpowering. Our naturally deodorised Shea Butter has a very mild scent.

What can you use our Organic Shea Butter for? Our Shea Butter can be used to help ease a variety of skin conditions, including eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, minor skin irritations, extreme dryness or toughness, stretch mark, burns, cuts and small skin wounds, sunburn, insect bites, ageing marks, scars, and dandruff. 

Direction For Use: Shea Butter melts easily on contact with your skin will absorb quickly. Simply scoop a little out of the pot and apply to the intended area.
