Myrrh is a natural gum or resin extracted from a number of small thorny tree species of the genus Commiphora. Myrrh resin has been used throughout ancient cultures as medicine and aromatherapy.
Its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties address symptoms of indigestion and prevent toxins from accumulating in the circulatory system.
The word mör or mur, from which myrrh is derived, means "bitter." The word probably comes from old Hebrew and Arabic. The aroma of Myrrh can be described as woody, warm, aromatic and pungent, and slightly medicinal.
Handmade by Fenix in Dublin, this natural incense is based on Breu Resin sustainably produced in the Amazon rainforest.
