Our organic Shea Butter is made from the kernels of the wild harvested fruits of the Shea Tree by local women cooperatives in Ghana between May & August. The women will harvest, clean & press the nuts themselves (within their community) and then negotiate their own price before it arrives in Europe for filtering & cleaning. The production and sale of this wonderful traditional product has a significant impact, helping to empower women and stengthen communities. This Shea Butter is unrefined, organic and raw, this means that it hasn't undergone any chemical refining process or extraction.

Our Shea Butter can be used to help ease a variety of skin conditions, including eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, minor skin irritations, extreme dryness or toughness, stretch mark, burns, cuts and small skin wounds, sunburn, insect bites, ageing marks, scars, and dandruff.
Raw unrefined African Shea Butter has a unique scent that is only found in pure shea butter. The scent of natural shea butter is best described as nutty, fruity or smoky. Our organic shea butter has a scent that varies between batches. Some people find the scent of organic shea butter quite strong , our advice in this instance is to leave the shea butter uncovered for a few days, the scent will start to fade.
